This can be seen in infiltrating BCCs, metastatic breast carcinoma, Trichoepithelioma, Microcystic adnexal carcinoma and some blue nevi and metastatic melanoma as well as Kaposi's sarcoma and angiosarcoma.

This feature can be seen in interstitial granuloma annulare but also in cellulitis (neutrophils) , Morphoeic BCCs, Desmoplastic trichoepitheliomas, Microcystic adnexal carcinoma, Metastatic Breast carcinoma and in some Desmoplastic melanomas and Metastatic Blue nevus like melanoma.
It can also be a feature of early Kaposi's sarcoma. Special immunoperoxidase stains may be necessary to work out the type of cell and the correct diagnosis.
